People decide to seek counseling for many reasons. Most are looking for relief from life stressors and help developing a plan. Issues related to kids and their behavior, developing or improving joint parenting skills, grief/loss, dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, relationship discord, and work-related stress are all common concerns that bring folks into counseling.
With almost 20 years of experience, Jane helps her clients find the strengths within to know themselves better and to develop a plan to avoid repeating unhelpful choices and build strength.
Because Jane uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and works from a “systems” perspective, a more holistic view of the client’s’ life is used in session. Jane works with teens, parents, couples, families, and individuals.
No life is “stress free”. Developing skills to be able to more smoothly navigate life’s waters is one of the hopes of time spent in counseling/therapy. Calm Seas, LLC is the name of Jane’s practice – it is a hope that together, many are able to find their way to feel better, to see themselves more clearly, and to ultimately find their own “calm” in their lives.
